Cultural Costumes

For homework last week we had to illustrate the costumes of a chosen culture. We put a lot of effort into making them look colourful! Great work Room 23 :)

Year 3/4 Poetry Finals 2012

We had poetry finals today and A.R and G.B were chosen to compete. They both did an amazing job and Room 23 are so proud of them!

Well done to A.R for winning overall in Year 4!

Athletics Is FUN!!

Yesterday it was athletics day and the first thing we did was get into our age groups outside the senior playground and then I was feeling really, really nervous. After Mr K told us what the first activities we were going to do were, I found out I was going to do ball throw and I was nervous. We all had three throws and the final places were 1st place was Cameron 2nd place was ...ME!!! 3rd place was Jaxon. I felt really happy because 2nd place is really good. Then the next thing we were going to do is High Jump and I was nervous again because High Jump is harder than ball throw. Last year I came 3rd. So first we had to go on the left side or the right side.I went to the right side because I am right footed and the left footers on the left side.The final place's are 1st place is ME 2nd place was Cameron 3rd place was Lucas.

Athletics day

It was fun on Athletics Day because we did lot's of exercise; like ball throw, sprints, long jump, high jump and parachute. My favourite one was sprints because I'm good at running. I think I can improve on high jump by pushing myself more higher and ball throw by not passing the line. My least favorite part is sprints because it's not a race it's just for fun.

Awesome Athletics

Yesterday the senior's had athletics! It was a boiling hot day. My favourite sport was long jump because I ran faster than a Cheetah in the grass. I did not like high jump because I got hurt. It was really fun but very difficult. Now we need to wait another year to do this again.I can't wait! YIPPPY!

Hi!I'm Emily, party planner  extraordinaire! Today I'm planning my best friend Rachel's, birthday party. I've planned for her party !I'm Emily, to be at the Howick club on saturday this week. I wrote a very long list of every single thing she wanted at her AWESOME party this year. I wrote a 100 line list of  every single thing I needed to make this party the time of her life.

The first thing on my list is to make a double decker chocolate supreme cake with chocolate mop cream inside. The next thing on my list was all of the invites. It took ages to go though the list but finally I made it to the last thing on my list, the entertainment. Everyone voted for One Direction, but they are so last year. I've got something way better planned....Chia Anne Mclane is doing a pirate peformance.

It was the day of the party and I got up bright and early and drove all the way to the Howick Club to put up the decorations: streamers, balloons and set up the stage where China Anne Mclane is going to perform had just finished setting the table with lots of goodies when Isabella, Tamara and Peita had just arrived at the front gate. I dashed outside to show them where to put their totally awesome presents.Now all that the totally awesome party needed was the birthday person.

Soon Rachel's car pulled up and I whispered "Everybody hide." Rachel walked in wondering where everybody was, when suddenly we all jumped up and shouted "SURPRISE!" Soon China Anne Mclane was rocking the Howick Club with her amazing song selection. Just then Rachel  came  and told me, "This is the best party you've ever planned in your life!" Then after that we partied all night long!.

Cultures and Celebrations wordle!

PARTY TIME!!! by A.R

"YIPPEE" I'm so excited because tomorrow it's going to be my friend Corey's birthday party and guess what? I'm going to be planning it. It is going to be at Keith Hay Park, 2:00pm and for 4 hours. I really know Corey is really going to love it because I'm going to hire a limousine for Corey to come to the party with, and a fantastic disco party , and an amazing disco ball which is shimmering bright , and a white chocolate cake. We had to leave early because we need to see if every thing is still there. We finally reached Keith Hay Park the gigantic soccer field. Luckily every thing was still there so we were safe. Corey finally reached Keith Hay Park in a long black and beautiful limousine and  Corey came out with amazing clothes, a nice black and white suit, black pants and a cool hairstyle. He is ready for the huge party. First off, we started with clown show who could do juggling with 4 balls which is amazing, also juggiling with bowling pins. Corey got so dizzy because the clown did not even drop it once. Then the clown started to make balloons for the birthday boy Corey and just 1 sword for me. Then we moved onto the disco party which was the second to last thing today in this party. We danced and danced until we were tired and Corey and I were puffing and puffing. We did the disco dance for at least 1 hour. Then finally for the last thing: cake time! Cake is the time where you make a wish and sometime in your life it could come true. The flavour of  the delicious cake was white chocolate which said Happy birthday Corey. "YYYUUMM" We all finished the delightful cake and a minute later Levi and Jaxon arrived and a minute late and we've said, "sorry we finished, the whole party is over." They said that;s alright we'll come next year". I gave Corey my present, he opened the present and it was MIGHTY BEANS!!. He said "Thank you so much for the awesome party" and I said, "Your welcome Corey I also had a great time .When Corey and I got home we went straight to sleep because it was the longest day ever...

It was nearly Iris's birthday her mum and dad asked me to give her a surprise birthday. The people who I was inviting was me,K.G, C.P, D.A, A.Y, N.M, E.S, and E.J. I said 'good! I have done the invitations, now to organise the party games". We are going to play pin the tail on the donkey, spin the nail polish, oreo game, musical statues, musical chairs and who can eat the most marsh mallows. I said ''tick! Now for the food we need.'' Cup cakes, cake, drinks, pop corn, fairy bread, hot dogs and custard pudding. "Yummy" I said, ''now for the decorations we need.'' A happy birthday sign, a disco room, foot steeps to follow to the door and ice cream pens so every one could have them and the loot bags are all done. We dressed Iris's dog into superman he looked so cute. I just got a text from Iris saying ''I'm coming home now'' I said ''quickly hide. 'So everyone hid. ''When iris get's through the door we are going to say happy birthday" ''ok ok'' said everyone. When Iris walks through the doors we said ''happy birthday Iris!'' She was so happy and she said "who's idea was this?" Everyone said ''Georgia thank you georgia so much.'' We played all the games and Iris thought her dog was so cute. We ate all of the food that our tummies are now sore. It was nine o'clock mum said ''go to bed.'' The next morning every one went and took there awesome loot bags home. Iris said to georgia ''thank you for all this '' "see you tomorrow bye bye'' and I went home.

Surprise!!

"YIPPEE" My friend's mum has just asked me to organise a surprise birthday party for my friend!!
Even better she gave me a list so I don't stress.The first thing I got was some automatic ghosts, and some scary decorations to go on some horses. A hour later I was checking my list... spooky decorations...scary books...I forgot the scary books! I ran to the Book Shop and looked for some scary books. Yes, I found them,but only four were for sale. Luckily I only needed four and I raced to the counter. Once I got to the house that I hired, I put most of the decorations in place. All I needed now was some sleep...

The next morning most of the decorations were still in place. All the others were getting put up. My friends name is Georgia, she is a BEST friend. Now I needed Georgia, I couldn't wait to see the look on her face! Firstly I took her to the supermarket and chatted until her mum texted me a "BEEP". I said it was time to go, so we went back. Once we got in, all the lights were off. Georgia asked"Anybody here?!?" She flicked the lights on and shrieked in terror .Everyone was frozen like a statue. The decorations were scaring her. The cake was scary. Everything was scary!! I giggled silently...

A few hours later, when we were finished, she said "Thank you Iris! This was what I wanted , a Scary, sensational, surprise birthday party!" I grinned, silently remembering the times we had, when we were young. Then the automatic ghost that just dropped made  both of us SCREAM! At the end of the day, we celebrated her birthday AGAIN, but it was a small tea party. After that I gave her my present...Goosebumps My Hairiest Adventure. 

Shakeout!

On Wednesday 26th September, our school participated in the Drop, Cover and Hold Shakeout at 9.26am. It was great practice but glad it was not real!

Something This School Really Needs...This School Really Needs A Robot That Picks Up Rubbish

Our school really needs an awesome robot, which can pick litter up from the floor because we need to get a GREEN school. The robot has to camouflage to look for robbers after school. During interviews, if parents can't find their kids class, they would look for the robot which would lead them there. Whenever it sucks up rubbish, it digests them and makes something new every time. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays she\he flies above the school to look for any trouble that the "Cool School" "Peer Mediators" can't solve. Also in the Summer when it gets hot you can go in a swimming pool at Lunch. In Winter if it gets really cold, a furry cover grows on the ROBOT. A book in every classroom is where you put a thread and then a robot would come and solve the problem. When the class photos arrive, even if you are someone who didn't buy anything you would still get a picture of the robots all together. Every classroom has their very own robot. The Robots are made of metal and they all have different camouflaging colors, for example purple and green.

This school needs a robot that helps with anything. It is good because it would help children if they are hurt and helps children with reading, writing ,handwriting, inqury and maths. We need it because sometimes children can get hurt and bleed. It cant break and is made of metal. The robot is an expert on anything.He has lots of plasters and he won't run out. He can shrink itself and grow again!

Somthing The School Really Needs Is A Terror Walk.

What our school really needs is a TERROR WALK because we need something interesting on the field and everyone wants to have fun everyday. It would be strawberry red with some pitch black,crazy stripes on the sides. There would be two coast guards on each end of the crazy ride. There would be two terror walks end of the feild.The senior one would be dangerous and the junior one would a smidge safer .Both terror walks would operate ONLY at lunch time every day. All the students would be able to have a turn.ONLY one or two people (if you're taking a challange) are aloud on at a time. It would be super duper popular.It would take 10 minutes to complete all of it. Everyone would enjoy it. You would have to put on safty gear on before you ride.        By E.S.

The Heidi book club

For the past few weeks, the Heidi book club have been doing an activity based on the story Heidi.  We have been making a model of the cabin and the hill with the characters inside the cabin. The characters are Heidi, Clara and Heidi's uncle and aunt.
Here is a review:
Heidi went up Alm mountain to see her Alm uncle,which she soon found out was her grandfather.
This book is all about Heidi's adventures up the mountain.The Alm uncle had two goats called Swan and Bear. The goat boy is called Peter.  Everyday for breakfast, Heidi and her grandfather has fresh goat's milk, toasted bread and cheese.

Under The Sea Production

All the auditions started and we started chatting away. All the actors,dancers and chorus got prepared to perform. The whole middle school had butterflies in there tummy. On the mimio there was images. The lights shone in my dirt brown eyes. My limestone white apron shimmered in the dark. I was feeling very,very,very nervous and scared. Oppps! Where's my manners,I forgot to introduce myself.I'm D.A ,ok now where was I? Yes I thought I was going to burst with joy and laughter.While I thought how would I control this sparkly joy the M.P.came up to introduced the tittle of our production.Next we sang a song called UNDER THE SEA!After we sang the song we all sat down. Meanwhile King Neptune and his court came on. Everyone in the court wore a sapphire blue cape.Afterwards it was my turn. Just then I felt sweat dripping down. I felt like someone had cooked me in a boiling stew pot. The next minute it was my turn to come up on to the velvet black stage.When I came up on to the stage I saw thousands of people staring at me. I started saying my lines. While I said my lines I felt like an actor. Well...hmm...I am a actor in the production but let's forget it. Then I felt a little more calm. When the production finished I felt so proud of myself.I think everyone did well.I enjoyed working with all the actors.Next time we should sing more louder.I am glad that our production is over because if it would not be over right now there would be no work done!
